Okay, a little about me. I studied history and archaeology at university. I did a BA in history, an MA in archaeology and a PhD in archaeology. These experiences gave me sharp critical thinking skills: observation, analysis, identifying bias, inference and problem-solving.

About four years ago, I turned to filmmaking. I did a filmmaking MA at the University of East London, with the aim of becoming a screenwriter. After graduating, I did a six-month screenwriting mentorship with Terry Jones Kalunga, an award-winning screenwriter and producer. Since then, I have dedicated myself wholly to developing my projects and reviewing other writers’ scripts and collaborating with other people to make films.

 

Aside from helping produce five short films, one of which was a finalist at a major film festival, I have extensive experience of pitching my treatments and scripts to industry professionals (via pitching platforms). I understand how ruthless and competitive the business is. In addition, my unique cultural background (Franco-Anglo-American) has taught me the importance of continuous learning and constantly bettering myself.

As a screenwriter, your ticket to success are the scripts you submit. You need to make these scripts outstanding – as close to perfect as reasonably possible. And I know full well how high the stakes are. If you submit your spec to a producer or studio executive and they don’t like it - that’s it. Even if you fix everything that’s wrong with it, they won’t look at it again. They don’t have the time to spare to revisit a project they have already found wanting. My job is to help you make sure that that doesn’t happen.
